A VEGF polymorphism study examining whether angiogenesis-related genetic variants are associated with end stage renal disease in a North Indian cohort.
This study examined vascular endothelial growth factor polymorphisms in a North Indian cohort with end stage renal disease to test whether angiogenesis-related variants influence renal risk. Genotype and haplotype analyses identified disease-associated VEGF patterns within the ESRD group, supporting a role for altered vascular signaling in renal pathobiology. The paper extends the portfolio beyond reproductive genetics into clinically relevant inflammatory and vascular genomics.
